Elrog OR RCA211?

Elrog OR RCA211?

Guys - One of my GE 211 tubes just went bad on my Wyetech Topaz so i am thinking of either upgrading to the elrog (reliability issues?? yes or no) or try to find a pair of RCA at a reasonable price-OR just get a replacement Ge211 and save the $$$$- thoughts and advice would be appreciated- thks gary

Besides very expensive i don't see why the elrog 211 should have reliability problems.
But i do see problems for the elrog 300b because that has an overstretched thoriated tungsten filement instead of oxidecoated. But again there are no isues for the 211 so far i can see at the moment.

  RCA 211 if you can find a pair actuall NOs will be about $1500. The GE is fine. RCA is a very warm sound. you not even like it. No experience with Elrod. I own RCA, GE and united 211's. very familiar with them.

I was told RCA=Smooth, GE=Dynamic.
