Allnic L4000 sonic signature, it is a very neutral, open and revealing.  The current transformers make it more dynamic and wider bandwidth than the original.  I think the image is larger with sound filling in between the speakers creating a wider soundstage.  I updated the transformers (mk-1) shortly after purchasing.  What is different from this unit than other tube gear I have heard, including the L5000 DHT is the absent noise floor.  You can turn the volume up ridiculously high before hearing tube rush.  This is far beyond any low level audio input.  Even then, there is no hiss.

This was purchased November 2012. Is in excellent condition and comes with the standard stainless steel remote and two extra e810f tubes.  Tubes last what seem like forever, are in plenty of supply and are very cheap to replace.  This design is stable with no maintenance.  The L4000 was renamed L3000, but is the identical amp. These have the new upgraded larger transformers MK-I.  This pre-amp is dead silent.  The noise floor is absent.  L3000 is favored over L5000 by Albert Porter for this reason.  See his thread on Audiogon Forum.
