I'm in need of a minor (?) but delicate repair of a W22EX driver.
I found a snapped tinsel wire that needs re soldering.  The problem is the wire snapped exactly at the spider/cone juncture and way beyond my soldering talents to fix.

Hoping to find someone with some experience with these drivers and talented enough not to damage the near by spider and cone.

Might be a good idea to replace the tinsel entirely from the terminal to the voice coil but it's not obvious to me how that could be done without some major surgery...

Suggestions welcomed!

Talked to the fine folks at Madisound and Solen, and both companies said I'm SOL!    "Irreparable" because the voice coil is integral to the cone.

For a well regarded top tier driver, I'm not impressed with SEAS Excel!  Everyone makes a lemon, I know, but I don't push these speakers to their limits. Not to mention that in my application the W22 is a midrange.  It barely moves at modest levels.

Now I'm faced with the decision of buying 1 or two drivers - so I can have one as a back up....$500+ later.   Grrr.

I'd like an unbiased opinion before I spend the $$$.  Madisound and Solen, are SEAS dealers.  Can someone corroborate their advise to buy replacement drivers?
