I'd look for semi-vintage CD players and DVD players.  What digital output(s) are you looking for?

Older classic transports, like CEC are expensive and dying off.  Cheaper ones like my Sony XA20ES are optical output for digital or RCA for analog.  Either way most prefer the sound quality of ripped files.

Denon DCD1520 or 3500 use the war tank transport Sony KSS151A. Great machine even today if you remove the drawer mechanism and insert the CD manually.

My Sony has a heavy drawer (with laser attached to it) and also uses a puck.

Welcome Sir!

I love Squeezebox's.  Nothing else could touch them at the price point... it's a shame they were discontinued.

Hi, Joe. Welcome to AC.

I've got a SBT. It's not perfect, but it's damned good for the price and I'm keeping it until something much better comes along. I'm hoping the (as yet unreleased) Nuprime Omnia fits the bill.

In audio, something always comes along that's better.  That's what makes this "hobby" great.  It never stops evolving.

Thanks again for the welcome. I am using my squeezebox right now. Was thinking about a sonic frontiers sft1 or a audio research cdt1

Its great to see that there are so many Squeezebox Touch users out there. Logitech killed the product way to early in my opinion. I have a couple os Squeezebox Touches with linear power supplies in use at home.
