Hi Everyone
I was wondering peoples views on how I should wire my speakers for best results and how to go about it. I have a newly acquired Bryston power amp and three way speakers with 3 sets of binding posts.
I recently purchased some second hand Van Den Hul Teatrack (bi wire) cable which came in a 3 mtr and 7 mtr length. I was planning on modifying the cable and tri wiring with each driver having its own run of cable with the objective being more copper the better. My room is small and the equipment is close together so i would have ample length if each cable was 1.5 mtr each side.
So basically i have a couple of questions, should i make the cable as short as possible but limit flexibility in the future if i move house or sell the cable, OR should i maximize the cable and make up a tri wire pair @ 3 mtr which is do-able (would there be a noticeable difference in sound quality?) Also would it be best for each driver to have its own cable or would it better to double up on the bass and run a jumper from mid to high??
I also have some Van Damme 6mm hi-fi series cable that i could use, however the banana plugs that i have got will only just about fit one of those conductors in, so bi / tri wiring with 6mm isnt an option, I would use jumpers from bass-mid-high.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
