The two mono-block 1 KW digital amps and the 500 watt stereo amp are on their way to  NC. I have also sent along quite a few cables to hook all this up.

They should be having their listening session this coming weekend.

Who is ready to be next on the list?

NY? Texas? Let me know so I can set things up.

A BIG thaks to Johnny at JJAZ for making these amps available for in home auditions through out the country.

Meanwhile we will be sitting here in Denmark awaiting your words on our amps.

We are really looking forward to hearing your opinion on the looks and sound.

A huge thanks to Wayne for putting the JJAZ amps and JJAZ Fod on his program and suggesting the US Tour.

I have heard from Inscrutable.

The amps and cables have arrived safely in NC.

Hopefully The NC Audiophiles will have a well attended, fun meeting and get to listen to some good gear.

I would appreciate some photos posted when you guys get the chance.

Wayne et al,
They have indeed, and are set up and ready to rock.  I was breaking them in on the 3.3's yesterday, and oh my ... just effortless power and reserves.  They are filling my 4000 ft^3 (110 m^3) room scary-loud, and don't appear to be breaking a sweat.  Definition and articulation very good.  I'll wait on other comments until they have some more time on them and I can really sit down and listen.

Hi Wayne,
I'm hoping Chicago will be on the list!  It doesn't have to be my house, I'd be more than willing to drive somewhere in IL, IN, WI, etc.

Thanks,
Jack

Jack,

The next stop is up for grabs.

George wasn't sure NY would be ready to have another Rave so soon.

I hear Texas might be willing to host the amps.  St Louis is another possibility.

If you can get some folks together for a listening session within the next couple of weeks, maybe we can work something out.

Inscrutable,

Let the amps play all day and don't turn them off at night. They do like to run for a bit to warm up after their long journey, all crated up.

Hiya Wayne,

Count GAS in! Just talked to Steve K. and it sounds like he will be hosting the next gathering. You can PM Steve directly for shipping instructions and such.

Here's the link to the post I made down at GAS;

Hi Wayne, I think I mentioned earlier that I wouldn't be free until mid- late Nov. I think there are a few guys around Milwaukee area that would be interested in hearing this amp. If it was at my place, it really isn't conducive to more than 3-4 guys at the most. If there are enough replies in this thread for a S. WI / N. IL session, then I'd be willing to host it, or attend it at someone else's place.

Hi guys,
OK, just let me know who is next and when.  Like I said earlier, no rush

Wayne,
Yes, after the load-out, now I need to put my room back together.  I'll hook them back up, and will let them run-in some more.  I'll also have some time to take and post some more pictures, and additional thoughts with some more time with them.

Inscrutable has shipped the amps and cables to Steve K at the GAS group in St. Louis. They should show up tomorrow, according to FedEx.

Is there anyone who would be ready to audition the amps and cables around the weekend of November 20th?

I heard the jjaz amps at steve's house friday.  First off, thanks wayne for sending them out-they are by far the prettiest amps I've seen-excellent eye candy.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but we used the silver amp which I believe is the stereo version  This was my first time hearing a digital amp using the ICE chip and I can tell why people like it.  The sound was very clean and smooth with lots of power.  I never felt like it was being pushed despite steve's power-hungry maggies.  I wonder how the mono's would sound  :o .  Wayne, have you tried them on any other power-hungry speakers like vmps?

Hello,

Thanks for the comments. I am having a new set of binding posts sent out by WBT-USA to SteveK so the 1 Kw mono-blocks can be listened to.
The Silver amp is the 500 watt per channel Stereo in a Stainless Steel case.

I am very willing to let the JJAZ amps remain in St. Louis for another listening session between the stereo 500 watt and mono 1 Kw amps.

I used the JJAZ amps at RMAF with the VMPS RM-30s. The 30s were passively bi-amped with the mono-blocks on the woofers and the stereo amp on the mids and tweets. I also used the mono-blocks alone on the RM-30s in my home. That was the loudest and most "live" like sound I have EVER heard in my home. Absolutely effortless and tight low end. My pant legs were flapping if I stood too close to the wooofers on the 30s.

mgalusha used the mono-blocks in his system with Vandersteen 3A Signatures. His comments are here: http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=13591

First thanks for the kind words on the design!
I can only say, that I agree completely, with your description of the character of the amps.

On of the other funny things we have expedients is, that due to the extreme cone control, people often find that they (for music) can skip there subwoofers, because the main speakers now deliver the that fast, dynamic sub. Information, they used the subwoofer for.

Sometimes it takes a while to get use to the fact, that you have an amp. that never stops deliver, the power the music demands. And some time you find you self, listing at levels that are a lot above what you use to use. And only when you try to talk to the person next to you. You realise what level your actually are listing at.

I can understand that, you used the 500W. With the 1000W it’s even more noticeable. But the different is not that significant, with normal (JJAZ levels !) and “normal” speakers.

Steve sent the amps back to me last week. I was able to get the mono-blocks working today. There was a lead going from the XLR input to the circuit board that was broken. The internal power fuse was also blown.

Both mono-blocks are now working just fine in my office system. I will let them run for the rest of the week just to make sure there are no more problems.

They might be heading out to California after Thankgiving. If you think you have time to listen to all the audition gear during the coming holiday festivities, please get in touch with me.
