There are plenty of choices - budget in mind?

Odyssey Candela is one.  I use one in a secondary system with a Bryston 3BST. Great combo.

I have used a CAT Renaissance Pre with my 7bsst2's and it is an ideal
pairing.....
I am upgrading to 28s and staying with the CAT, although I may
upgrade it to the latest black path specs......
Any vintage of CAT Pre would be excellent.....

As requested a budgetary figure would help but at various price points I've had success with Rogue Magnum 99, Holland HP-100, Lamm LL2 deluxe and L2-Ref, ARC LS-26 and ARC Ref-3. I know I've left off a couple from my list but there are many good choices out there and I'm sure you'll get some really good suggestions.

I use a Vac pre(MKII-A) with 28s,
I'd be very comfy using the vac on 3's,4's,7's ect.

CAT  Preamps  are   world class    (own  CAT Ren  Black Path)      simply  just  Amazing   


The  CAT  Renaissance   "Black Path"   is   a total  game  changer   (bests  older CAT Legend  preamp)


if you buy one----you'll  probably never look back

If you don't feel the need to get really spendy, I'm a fan of the Wyred 4 Sound STP-SE. REALLY tough to beat. The 6 Moons review does a great job of describing its attributes.

To me, it's the gate keeper preamp on the market for overall value. I haven't heard anything less expensive truly better it in sound nor versatility. To do better, you have to spend significantly more. It's not a tube preamp, but read the 6 Moons review, and you'll understand my recommendation.

My Jeff Rowland Capri preamp is a great match to my 4bsst2, wired with Transparent Reference xl balanced interconnect.
