BDP-2 NAS help -- Please, please, please
« on: 15 Nov 2015, 09:38 pm »
  I had been using my BDP-2 with a local USB-HDD with control via mPad.  All was well until the HDD died.  I decided to purchase a WD MyCloud NAS.  I cannot get it to work.  The NAS is configured with an attached USB drive with all of my 'master' files.  The NAS sees this drive as a share, and I named it 'Music' (clever, eh?).  In the Bryston software (S2.18 2015-09-29) I go through the NAS setup utility, and select the NAS and the share.  But that's where things seem to go off the rails.  It doesn't update that I can tell.  When I go to the Media Player screen I can see the NAS and Share, but nothing is listed in any of the Genre/Artist/Album etc. folders.  If I click on the NAS/Share folder itself, I get a list of folders called .DocumentRevsions-V100 and some other weird ones.  Interestingly, clicking on the NAS/Share folder does move some songs into the now playing section, but they are random, from several different albums, and each time I try, I get the same list of songs.  So apparently the Update isn't working.

Then, in mPad, when I 'Refresh Local Cache', it starts to populate albums with names, but the albums contain no songs, and there's no artwork.  However, the playlist populates with songs, but not the same songs as Manic Moose.

At this point, I am open to trying anything.  I very much appreciate any help, because I've spent many hours messing with this, and I'm ready to go out and buy another USB HDD.  Thanks very much everyone.

Chris, thank you again for your help. Since this is my first trouble shooting issue like this, I don't know how the process works. Do you notify me when you've done your service?  Do I need to do anything else?  Thanks.
