Ads require an asking price....at least as a starting point, per the Trading Post guidelines.

"Individual for sale items must list an asking price.  Listing the location or zip code is highly recommended.  A buyer may be right around the corner.  Plus a buyer can get an idea of shipping costs if he knows the location."

Additionally, the way you worded this: "Asking best offer takes it. This ad will be up until midnight 11/15 eastern time." literally means "If 5 people make me offers (for example) of $5, $10, $15, $20, and $25, I will sell to the highest bidder."

Yes, I spent many years teaching English, but I'm not an attorney, so I do not know if my interpretation of your English would be legally binding. I'm not trying to be a smart ass BTW. I am trying to be helpful.

"It is not legally binding until it's accepted by the other party."

Oh, I think I need another cup 'o Joe.

You are correct. I hadn't considered that possibility.  :duh:  This is probably why I am not an attorney.

I get you loud and clear. An offer is just that. It is not legally binding until it's accepted by the other party.

And compensation has occurred.   :thumb:
