Selling this great Audiocubics R-Cube:aluminum remote controled add-on volume unit or single input passive preamp. Used this to add volume control to a vintage receiver and also as a passive. It is an excellent little unit and works Small wonders ... especially at its price.

The R-Cube system is a showpiece stereo remote volume control with superb audio characteristics and a sophisticated minimalist look. Appearance is just as important as performance in excellent audio gear and brushed or machined aluminum enhance the R-cubes aesthetic. The cube shape satisfies the performance design goal of minimum possible total signal path and catches the eye with it's geometric simplicity.
Each R-Cube is hand crafted out of brushed aluminum, with machine-turned aluminum buttons and a single 192 color LED light indicating volume level.

The R-cube is constructed with gold/teflon RCA jacks, silver/teflon wiring, triple eutectic solder and a minimum possible signal path in order to maintain maximum signal integrity throughout.

Connecting the R-cube to your system:
For receivers and integrated amplifiers the R-cube inputs can be connected to the pre-amp outputs and the R-cube outputs can be connected to the amplifier inputs, with the bypass switch open or the jumpers removed. If there are no pre-amp outputs and amplifier inputs, a tape monitor loop can be used with the R-cube inputs connected to the tape outputs and the R-cube outputs connected to the tape inputs. For component systems the R-cube inputs can be connected to the pre-amp outputs and the R-cube outputs can be connected to the amplifier inputs or an equalizer, etc. If you use a single source of appropriate output voltage and an amplifier for a minimalist system, the R-cube inputs can be connected to the source outputs and the R-cube outputs can be connected to the amplifier inputs.
Note: There are situations where the system gain can be too high and cause clipping, such as; A CD player with selectable output of 4 volts connected to a CD input that is designed for 2 volts, connecting a standard 2 volt output CD player to line level inputs that are designed for an approximately 150mv signal, or any adjustable source with the output turned up too high. Since many amplifiers acheive full rated output with only 1 volt of input, any of these situations can cause clipping at worst or a limited useful range of volume control at best. In these cases output voltages can be turned or selected down where possible or in-line attenuators may be installed.
