You do have a keen eye for this kind of stuff, I would have missed it.

I think Josh has the JBL guy beat.

I'm sure that the white plastic lawn chair has sentimental value but would you be offended if we bought you something a bit more upscale?

Correction - that was a Maxell tape ad.

Yes, I know it's a tape ad but I'd recognize that weird grill anywhere.
I lusted after a pair of JBL L100s back in grade school like you can't imagine but they were far too expensive for a kid cutting lawns for a living.  JBLs, a Dual or Thorens turntable and a Norton Commando Roadster were the things that filled my head back then.

That's when it begins--girls and equipment, not necessarily in that order...

Josh, you're missing a VERY prescient bit of forecasting in that pic.  The circular elements are really planar, based on ENLARGING the elements in today's planar headphones.  The large one is merely a push-pull version, similar to a DWM.  The funky color of the grill belies the fact that the threads themselves are each ribbon tweeters!  So as long as the floors and ceiling are properly treated, these monsters are the ULTIMATE dipole speakers!

Oh, OK, I just remembered to take my meds now... ;-)

Don't they go, uh, hand-in-hand, so to speak?   :peek:
