New Bryston USB Driver
« on: 5 Nov 2015, 03:57 pm »
Hi All, With the release of the BDA-3 comes a new USB driver for Windows users. Before we release it into the wild, we'd love to get some feedback from any Windows users. The new driver works with the BDA-3, BDA-2, and BUC-1. Unlike the old driver, you no longer need to boot Windows into the unsigned driver mode to install it.

Let me, unincognito, or James know how it works for you on your BUC-1 and BDA-2.

Hi GDayton,

As an owner of a Buc-1, will this new driver enhance the functionality of the unit or is it for Windows 10 compatibility?  In other words, what does it do?

Thanks,

Mike

It doesn't add any new functionality to the BDA-2 and BUC-1, but it makes installation on Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 much smoother. The old driver (you may remember) required that you boot the computer into a special unsigned-driver-compatibility mode to install, but the new driver does not.

There won't be any sound quality changes.

Hi Gary,

I appreciate the clarification.  I'll take a look at it this weekend.

Thanks,
Mike
