Asking $625.00 $575.00 + shipping - Paypal prefered

I bought this about a month ago from another Audiocircle member but just replaced it with a tube pre. The previous seller listed it as below and I couldn't improve on it so... ;)

"The Audio-GD C-3 balanced preamp. This is an extremely high definition 2 chassis balanced preamp with remote control. Class A, fully discrete, no opamps, coupling caps, no-feedback. This can be run using the Krell ACSS (CAST) technology or through regular balanced/single ended connections. Overbuilt with audiophile parts throughout. You will not find a better balanced preamp for the money. Cables for ACSS connection included. Volume knob on unit is a bit wonky, but volume from remote works great."

I found the volume works pretty good - you just have to apply slight forward pressure to it. The remote volume works fine and is a nice heavy milled aluminum piece. I was really surprised with this inexpensive pre - it sounds REALLY good! I've had plenty of hi end preamps and this one would not be embarrassed. I just prefer tubes. It has a gain adjustment button which is nice. The top brushed aluminum covers have a couple surface scratches but not really noticeable unless under bright light. I would rate it a 7/10 but very presentable. I have the factory boxes. These are heavy so shipping will be a little costly - I paid about $115 from California to Florida - local pickup is welcome - I'm in St. Augustine, FL.

Pics from previous owner - units are packed and ready to go.

I used to own this piece. Someone is going to get a super bargain on a true no-compromise preamp. I went to a preamp-less all digital front end so I no longer needed it, but I could barely hear any difference at all when this was inserted in the chain. It is as clean as it gets, is very flexible, and built like nothing else on the market- it weighs 50 or 60 lbs., as I recall.

thanks Jonbee - your right - I was going direct from my PS Audio Directstream DAC and didn't notice much if any difference with the Audio-GD in the loop as far as loss of transparency.

My good friend owns this preamp and I own the Audio GD Master 1 preamp. This is an absolute steal and built like a brick! You won't find a better sounding preamp for under $2-3K on the used market.
