It's in a heavy gauge steel housing. However, one can never account for the effects on interconnects and the likes of that. CD players do have transformers in them and many create magnetic fields about them. If you think you can hear some noise, I'd move it away. My 2 Vision phono preamps are on top of other components that are never on when I'm listening to vinyl (they are on an FM tuner).
