smack in the middle of Canada
« on: 16 Oct 2015, 05:40 am »
Hi folks, I've been lurking for a while but finally registered. My home collection is modest, though at the moment I seem to be sitting on 6 amps, half of which are Brystons. Ok, I admit I have a problem...

My heavier investment in this hobby is in the headphone world though. I am quite active over at head-fi and have the same username there: http://www.head-fi.org/u/136355/armaegis

Lately I've been finding my preference leaning towards pro audio gear, partially because I do a bit of sound tech work for some local theatres and studios, so that makes for a dandy "excuse" to acquire more gear. Look, I said I have a problem alright? I mean, how else am I going to justify a pair of new 2x18 subs?

Anyhow, signing up for this place is probably a bad idea because the only thing worse than spending money on gear I don't need... is talking with people about even more gear that I don't need. I grudgingly accept my fate and weep for my wallet.

    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

The middle must be Manitoba?  I get out to Winnipeg a couple of times a year for work.

Welcome to the fun!

Well I've currently got the HE-6, so I think I'm good for now... unless you're just giving it away  :thumb:

Greetings & Welcome Armaegis  :thumb:  fwiw they have a great BMW dealership in Winterpeg. At least it was in '72 when I burned out a wheel bearing and needed help at 4:30 PM. It was August, and it was 102 deg F, so it's not just your winters that are extreme.  :D

Welcome from an American living in Toronto.  Nothing at all wrong with pro audio gear.   I have 4x 18" subs in my HT room.
