Hello from CT!

I've been building PC's for a hobby for about 30 years, dabble in woodworking, have a crapton of fairly good headphones (Oppo PM-3, Senn Hd 650, Hd 700, Alessandro MS-2, etc) and I'd like to step up my home theater from the low end Polk's pictured here.

It's a 3.1 system with a good Yamaha reciever (RX-V3800) and an Oppo BDP-93 Blu ray player.
I'm interested in building a new set of speakers that would fit in my current space and be able to put out very good sound at low power levels. I can only crank it up when my wife isn't home  :D

Yes, I could purchase some great speakers but reading these forums got me all liquored up to try and create a set myself.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I own three pairs of GR Research speakers,
so I can say that you can't go wrong with Danny's stuff.
Look nowhere else, this is the place to be.  :thumb:

Welcome Submarinesailor.
I would suggest you a fullrange driver w/ no crossover.
Today there is even various choices in Alnico magnet
for blessed harmonics.

Where would I go to investigate the full range driver speakers, FRM?

Hi (Again) Submarinesailor,
have a look at GR Research website,
they have a Full range driver.
The N3 is still availble, it's the tweeter unit that's not.
Check with Danny on his circle here.
I own a N3 and I can say that it's a very good unit.
