I can hear my  X-2 High Pass Filters and of late have been removing them when not listening to bass heavy music.
Anyone else notice this?

This is absolutely correct and the x-2 should not be used with a high performance system because it is so audible.  The M5-HP (HPB) as a dramatic improvement.  Make the switch and let us know how it goes.  Good luck.
