For what it is worth...
Chris Own from Ack Industries sent me a prototype he is working on that will be either the next generation version, or a new model or something.
It also addressed some of these issues you listed in your forum.
I haven't had a chance to do a decisive A/B test yet, but from first listens and quick A/B tests it appears to have greater high end extension and resolution in the highs. The bottom end is a little more solid too.
I'll let you guys know more as I have listened more.
