New to the circle!
« on: 23 Sep 2015, 10:15 pm »
Hey Guys I'm new to the circle! I've lurked for a long long time but I finally have a question that I can't lurk my way to an answer.

I have a pair of Mini Stratas and something, most likely lightning, nuked what looks like a giant resistor on the crossover for the mid channel to the planar panel. At first I thought it might have been the panel, because it actually took out the tweet too. Luckily I had a spare. I know Skiing Ninja used to do great things with the Mini Crossovers but I understand he opted to shut down the operation. Does anyone still mod these? Is there a DIY if I ordered parts? As I gather caps and No Rez make the largest improvement but this will be my first crossover mod/repair. So I consult you the wise and beg pity for some direction.

Welcome to AC.  That is one nasty looking resistor.  :o  Lots of great DIY and builders here.  Ask plenty of questions and you'll get the help you need.

Frickenmotarded, welcome to AC.
This resistor are great quality=1% tolerance
Also there is 5% and 10%, I would change it
only when it failed.
