Dodd Tube Buffer. $600.00 plus shipping.

I am selling my Gary Dodd handmade tube preamp buffer with a nice wood front plate and matching remote. The unit is like-new, but I am taking my listening room in a new direction.

Note that I use a 12 volt batteries (not included) to run my buffer. You can replicate this setup or use a plug-in power supply. I don't have specific information to offer on wall-wart options but am sure other Audiocircle members could offer advice.

The buffer is in excellent condition and extremely quiet. It has the upgraded Sonicap output capacitors. The buffer has the 6/12 volt switch and supports both types of tubes.

The sale includes a 12AX7 tube with low usage. The buffer has three inputs, two variable outputs, and one record output. I understand that you can bi-amp the buffer, but I have never tried this configuration.

Forgive my ignorance but what does a preamp buffer do? How is it different from a preamp? Do you use both a preamp buffer and a preamp or is the buffer also the preamp?
