JuicyMusic RoadShow II - How Sweet It Is
« on: 13 Oct 2004, 02:15 am »
We have two units - the PEACH which is a linestage only, and the BLUEBERRY which is phono and line. To keep waiting time reasonable, I am limiting each to the first 6 who sign up.

RULES (See if I can make this simple):
- You have the unit for one week.
- You must supply me with a credit card for security purposes. We don't place any charge against the card.
- Your signup email to: info@juicymusicaudio.com must contain full name, address, phone number and product preference of course.
- I make all the lists in order of geography. This reduces transit time.
- You pay for shipping to "next on list" which I will provide. The unit must be insured for $1500.
- You are agreeing to post your impressions on AUDIOCIRCLE within a week of having the unit. Do, that, you get the fabulous JM Tee-shirt.

All right, now, this is supposed to be fun. And let's just start fresh here.
Enjoy!
Mark Deneen

I shipped the PEACH unit today to #1, and I will have the BlueBerry on it's way to you tomorrow.

There's still short lines right now - just as a reminder to others.

"BlueBerry in da house" !!!   Thank you Mark, the Blueberry preamp arrived today in great shape....packed inside a nice, strong, black Pelican case with combo lock. Reminds me of my old touring days. This is an excellent way to ship your preamp !! :)
I've installed the five tubes into the preamp, and the preamp into my system. The unit is housed in a wood case....a beautiful wood case....great finish !! :o [/list:u]
Over the next week I will compare it to my two other preamps...ARC SP-9 mkII and a Philly Audio 7A. Amp wise, it will be matched with a Krell KSA-100 mkII, Carver ZR 1600 (8th. Nerve mods) , and Sophia Baby amp.[/list:u]
        Both cd's and lp's will be my source's. :) [/list:u]
Let the adventure begin....... [/list:u]

Ya'know Wolfy, it's ashame you couldn't match that Blueberry pre with a Butler 2250. That combo could very well be the stairway to heaven, Regards, Robin

Blueberry Impressions
For the last week I was able to play with both Mark's Blueberry and my Rogue 66 Mag, because of a timing issue both were new to my system at about the same time.  This being the first time I used a touring audtion, I can not believe how easy and rewarding the process is.

I will start out and say that I'm keeping my Rogue, since I was able to pick it up on the used market for about 1/3 the price of a new Blueberry and funds are tight for toys!
The Blueberry brought the music to life...Major difference in my system was soundstage was brought forward with great detail.  The Rogue did alot of the same, but did not match in bringing it forward.
I much prefer the look of the Blueberry, the wood case is just beautiful.  All the pics I have seen just do not do it justice.

The phono stage is dead quiet in my system, with a good amount of gain.  I will have my Rogue gain set to match that of the Blueberry, since I liked it better in my system.  I think it was about 10db higher with no noticable increase in noise from the units.

If I was looking at these units both at new retail pricing my choice would be the Blueberry.  It seems to do all well with good looks, much more room for more pieces of equipment and lets the music come through clean with great presentation.

It is off to the next lucky listener.  Thank You Mark for putting this great amp out there for us to hear.   Joe

Joe and Mike,

According to my son a box with a lock was received today at my home.  I am traveling on business, but will be back home Thursday.

Mike,

Could you PM or e-mail me details and the combination?  E-mail address is rogerjones7@comcast.net.  Thanks.

Just a quick note to thank Mark at Juicy Music. After my audition , I ordered a Blueberry. It arrived a few hour's ago....packed well....no damage's (FedEx). Have it up and running , sounds excellent ! The thing that sold me on it was the wide, solid , soundstage. Really opened up the music with excellent detail !!!
I had a special request....I wanted a "black" wood case. I liked the regular wood finish, looked good, but...I prefer black. No problem, nothing extra in charges....I have a "black" case. Thanks !![/list:u]
Since the tour is still rolling along, I'd say...give it a try. And you have a choice of Blueberry or Peach.[/list:u]
So thanks Mark....great job, sounds sweet !!! ....And the t-shirt fits just fine..... [/list:u]

Hey thanks Chris----You have the first, and probably last "black case" we will ever make! <g>. (Now I know why black cars cost more than other colors).

BTW, both the Peach and BlueBerry RoadShow lists are pretty short right now. I just checked and only about 2 people on deck for each. That's the shortest it has been for a couple months now.

If the BlueBerry list doesn't grow, we are going to bring it back to the factory and install the "Cream" moving coil option - which suddenly seems to be gaining some popularity. (PH1=MC, PH2=MM).

Enjoy the shirt, I embroidered it myself.
