Windows 10 Taskbar Calendar Doesn't Expand
« on: 20 Sep 2015, 08:35 pm »
I upgraded the wife's Dell laptop to Windows 10. Everything seem to be working fine except when she clicks on the the time/date area at the bottom right of the taskbar she hears the windows error bong (or whatever it's called) and the calendar does not come up as it is supposed to.

I tried googling but couldn't find anything. Thoughts on how to fix?

There was an unofficial reply on microsoft.com that 24 people who were having the same problem found helpful.

Apparently they had a registry key entry for "Armenian Standard Time", that when deleted solved the problem.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Time Zones

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-other_settings/date-and-time-pop-up-calendarclock-in-windows-10/6afe61cb-15e6-4485-a51c-6f3fda8860c4?auth=1

Sounds a bit weird, why would that entry exist, but ..... I checked my calendar-working Windows 10 and had no such registry key.

I removed the entry and like magic the calendar pop up started working.

Thanks!
