Jolida JD9
« on: 18 Sep 2015, 04:52 pm »
Hello guys I am new to vinyl, well not new but going back to vinyl.  Just purchased a vintage turntable, fully modded and in mint condition Technic SL1200.  Yeah I know that's not an "audiophile" TT but that's what I grew up on and its a solid turntable, proven and reliable.  I also purchased an integrated tube amp (Cary SLI 80) and I also have a Jolida FX-10 heavily modded and it sounds nice but I needed a bit more power to run my Von Scheikerts VR2's speakers and Onyx MK250 speakers.  I am looking for a nice affordable tube phono pre amp, came across the Jolida JD9 and I almost pull the plugged on it but I wanted to get some opinions on that phono or if I should look at another brand.  My budget is tight, especially after spending quite a few bucks this months on the above items.

Let me know your thoughts or recommendations~  Thanks~  :thumb:

I have a Jd9 for sale.  Might even have some fancy tubes in it!   :thumb:

I've got 2 JD9s, neither one is for sale.
I'd buy another one, they're really good.

No problem.
Seriously, they're good units and there's a monster thread on here if you want to go upgrade mad.
I just put in new JJ tubes and called it a day.

The JD9 is seriously good and a bargain.  If the only thing you do to it is roll the tubes, it may very well be the last phono stage you buy.

Decided to go with the Parks Audio Budgie Tube phono pre amp. It is 100% American hand made and it has some excellent reviews.  If it doesn't work out then my next decision will be the JD9, so we shall see.  Can't wait for it to arrive ;) I will post a follow up first impression and review after I play with it for a bit...
