Getting RMX, how much to sell RM40's for??

So, I have decided to get the RMX.  I have a set of RM40's. Piano Black, original with the 2 tweeters and no upgrades.  Any suggestions on what I should ask for them, they are in great condition.  And, what would be the best way to advertise them once I determine and asking amount.

Thanks for your suggestions in advance.

I would list them here and on Audiogon.

I would think that originals would fetch <$3000.

I might try listing them for $2900 OBO plus shipping unless I needed to unload them quickly, then I might list them for $2600 firm priced for quick sale.

It is a sad day when you have to let such wonderful speakers go for so little denaro.   They really are worth more than that but you won't get more with resale.   You *may* be able to get more out of them if you first upgrade them yourself with the FST and maybe the caps as I imagine many potential owners won't want to do this themselves.

I saw a pair like you have priced at $2250 on audiogon.

Yes, and it seems like that pair was up for sale for eons. You might offer to deliver within a resonable distance to sweeten the deal?

Looks like I was too optimistic with my suggestion on pricing.

Best of luck!

Unfortunately, I think you can only expect $2-2300 for your pair.
