Life long audio enthusiast here, have been involved with audio systems since I was a kid with my father who was an true Audiophile, he used to have a full set of Macintoshes using a pair of big passive JBL with an 18" woofer, horn mid and a ribbon tweeter, those were the days with quality analogue vinyl and to tell you the truth I had a blast enjoying the development of my father's system over the years, with dbx equalizer as experiments, Nakamichi tape deck to record music for the car and then even a Denon DAT recorder. We started with a Technics turntable and ended up with a Linn Sondek which I fell in love with, so when I left home married and muster the courage and money to spend it on my equipment I went full Linn and bought myself my beloved Sondek LP12/Ekos/Arkiv with Lingo PS & Linto pre, an Ikemi CD player, a Sony XA5400ES as a SACD player, a Kairin Pro as a preamp, for FM I use a Kremlin Tuner and for amplification I four Klouts with active crossovers to pump juice to a pair of freestanding Keltiks which I love, for a streamer I am currently toying with a Slim Devices Transporter, but I now I am in the process of selecting a ripping service to do a full run of my collection which is over 3k discs, I done part (but classical metadata is hell) using XLD and play those Flacs and my DSD collection using mostly Audirvana on my desktop while I work on the computer which is a lot since I am involved in IT, but I need to have everything ripped properly, even the SACDs and select a media server like River Media Center to organize everything, I am even testing Libib as a handy tool to keep track and be done with it. I need to be able to play them in the music room. So as you see I have a long lasting relationship with audio, from building speakers for money when I was young to enjoy the pleasure of listening to something like "The Spirit of Turtle/Beethoven - Symphony No. 9 in DSD256 using a my Sennheiser DVD-800 DAC/AMP connected through Silver dragon set of HD-800 headphones.
