Because of additional mods that we have developed for the Carver ZR1600 and after modifying several of them and listening at length in our new listening studio, we believe that they now deserve a Turbomod status. Turbomod is our designation for a reference component.
Also, due to the additional modification steps and more expensive materials involved, we have raised the price to $1800.
We have also learned several things:
1) The RF emissions from a stock amp are 6-9 Volts P-P
2) Our new mods reduce the RF emissions to 3-4 Volts
3) The new inductor design seems to be superior to our original design
4) The inductor heating is very small now with our new cores
