BP-26 / MPS-2 - Remote powering ?
« on: 4 Sep 2015, 05:44 pm »
Hi,

I would like to be able to "remote power on/off" the BP-26/MPS-2 combo.

If I were to use a relay (mechanical or solid-state) to "switch" on/off the power to the MPS-2, would that cause problem in the long run or would this method be approuved by Bryston ?

Thanks!

Take care!

I do not think there would be an issue AJ but check with Mike - mpickett@bryston.com

Hi all,

For those who may be interested in doing something similar, Mike got back to me today.

Here is what he answered:

{
Providing the power is being switched using a relay based AC switch, there should be no performance penalty.  However, I can’t say the same for solid state switches; some are quite transparent while others may add noise and/or distortion to the waveform...
}

So I guess I'll go in the "mechanical relay" direction then.

Thanks Mike!

Take care!
