Boyhood - the English "version"

If you liked or loved Boyhood - there's a somewhat similar English version called Everyday. It was released in 2012 so you'll have to find it somehow. Directed by Michael Winterbottom.

It takes place only over 5 years and it's about a mother living in the countryside who takes care of her 4 kids while the husband is in jail in London whom they visit.

It's not quite as dramatic as Boyhood but it's more documentary-like an a bit more artsy. Also, I preferred it because I never said -  who is that? or - where did that person disappear to?

I saw this and thought it was terrific but I might be predjudiced; I'm a big fan of all Michael Winterbottom's films. Imo, he is one of the smartest directors working, with an apparent interest in placing Thonas Hardy novels in contemporary times and in different cultural settings.

What fun!
