That is very pretty.

Now I'm going to ask a question which will allow my noobishness to shine through. Why are there two arms?

Good question Michael...

The answer, for me is for the ability to have a Mono and a Stereo Cartridge, for others, it may be the ability to have two different Stereo or Mono cartridges at their disposal / choice!

Thanks Dave!   I am glad those phono cables, first generation/first batch, are still in your fine system!  Still have the VPI table?

Beautiful table Tuan. That is exactly what I want, the ability to switch tonearm/cartridges on the fly. Sometimes someone or myself want to play a record that doesn't look so good. It would make it easy to use a cheap cartridge for playback without having to set the table up for the occasional bad record. That is the HRX, right?

I too am enjoying both the cables you made. Do you make USB cables to go from DAC to amp?

Hey thereGentlebender, that isright, some will like that option... I would too!

No, this isnoir the HRX, it's a customp plinth and accessories.. only the arms, plattera nd mother is VPI...

I don'tcurrentlyy make USB cables, but have thought about it.  You want to be the beta tester?

What kind of speed regulation, SDS ?  That's a 300 RPM Scoutmaster motor ?

Yes SDS and no, I was told that it is the Aries motor.  300 RPM.

Went to VPI site.  Seems like there is no more Scoutmaster or Traveler.  Both Scout and Junior have 600 RPM motors.  Looks like Prime, Aries, and Avenger have the same 300 RPM pods with different pulleys.  Avenger pulley is straight and requires an SDS.  The others are tapered and can be used without one, although you can order them with either pulley.

Great looking plinth you've got there.

Neo,

With VPI, my experience is that even though things are not listed on their site, they will be happy to work with you to build the table you want, like the Scoutmaster or Traveler.

What happened to the rim drive?

Steve, I sold the RIM Drive.  It sounded better but for my current set up, I don't have the rack to support it and it's finicky too!  It was too much work and I just wanted something more simple, can you imagine that for an audiophile?

Finicky?

I've never seen one in operation but I loved my old Lenco. That drive system has always sounded so powerful and present. So, I have kept my eye out for one.

What was involved in the VPI Rim Drive that made it tough to use?
