BCD-1 won't play, help please
« on: 30 Jul 2015, 10:56 am »
Just fired up the stereo after a LONG time off and w/o power.  Other components are working but the BCD-1 only has the red standby light on.  I can load a cd but it will not play it.  Unit seems to respond to the remote but no play.  Is there some magic reset I can do??  I didn't see anything in the owner's manual.  Thanks for any help!

Try unplugging it for 30 seconds or so and then plugging it back in.  That works for my t.v. and cable box, no clue if it will help here, but it's easy to try.

Just wanted to send kudos to Mike Pickett and the techs at Bryston.  I received my BCD-1 earlier this week and it works beautifully!

In similar situation (long time w/o power supply) - I found BCD-1 "dead". Not even sign of life. Suspect internal fuse, but since nearest service is 250 miles away I am just to lazy to pack it and send it.

Perhaps Bryston can answer that since they were able to correct the problem for SCO77 . I wonder  too since I have 2 CD1s and have never had a twitch from either one.
