All,

I have a pair of fullrange 4 inch drivers I would like to try in a baffle.
what is the biggest size baffle which one could use to mount these drivers?

You could get some large pieces of card board and do some experimenting. Maybe double down on the thickness.
Find out how high you want them mounted from the floor and whether or not you want them centered or not.

In the mean while, look around and find out what your final media/material you are going to use for the finished product.

At some point the baffle size will prevent even the lowest frequencies from wrapping around, where subsequent increases in size will make little to no difference. This is a function of baffle height, width, depth and even driver location on the baffle. A program like Edge will help simulate this function before beginning any construction.

Agree with modeling the baffle to some extent, and absolutely agree that cardboard can work wonders to make mules for testing.

I ran 36 inch wide, 42 inch high baffles with my OB Visaton b200's, and 8 inch full ranger.  I ultimately installed folding wings to make them liveable and self supporting.
