This arm was included with a table I bought from the original owner, an older gent in NYC. I just have too many arms and need to pay some bills.
9 inch unipivot model in attractive polished chrome. If desired, silicone fluid can be injected into the pivot point dampening well, but it is my understanding that most UP-4 owners use it undamped. It is also my understanding that dampening can help in cases of a slight cart / arm mismatch. In any event, a full syringe is included if you'd like to experiment. This arm allows for quick and easy adjustment of all setup parameters: VTA, VTF, azimuth, bias / anti-skate.
Included are two armtubes, RED (6g effective mass) and BLUE dot (14g effective mass). Great flexibility for matching carts of different compliances, and fine tuning resonant frequency into desired zone. Also allows for easy cartridge swapping. Set cart up on armtube, and simply change out the armtube. (Of course, you'll need to reset VTA, VTF and azimuth, but not offset angle or overhang)
I can't be certain, but just looking at it I think the RED tube is copper wired and BLUE is silver wired. (RED dot is bottom arm on the close-up underside pics). The BLUE looks relatively untouched. RED shows greater signs of use, but still in fine shape.
Just shot the pics this morning, so they accurately represent the excellent condition. Everything works exactly as it should. Everything shown is included, and will get you up and running quickly:
* pillar / base / pivot and all mounting parts
* two arm tubes, RED and BLUE dot
* two finger lifts
* 3 counterweights: 2 heavy ones w/ offset hole for azimuth adjust, 1 smaller one for fine VTF adjust
* hex wrench
* full syringe dampening fluid
* original box
* marketing brochure, and printout of online manual
Cartridge and tonearm cable are
not included.
If you do the research you'll find tons of positive comments from reviewers and uses alike. Refer to the Moerch website for greater technical detail. See my Gallery for more photos
This arm retails for $1995. The extra arm tube costs $695. And you will rarely find a full silicon syringe on a used arm.
