First of all, this is a good record clamp because it actually absorbs energy the same way that Stillpoint footers work their magic. So you could say that this is an intelligent record clamp, not just a record weight. But here is the really cool thing........ When you are not playing records you can place it on top of a CD player or some other source component to get the same vibration-control benefit in that location. I put mine on my CD transport. Therefore, it is always being used and that makes it a better value.
I'm not a big fan of record clamps in general, but I like my Ultra LPi. I would keep it even if for some reason I had to sell my turntable. (God forbid.)
