I use maple butcher blocks for my Manley Mahi monoblocks.  Cheaper than most commercial stands, look good and do a good job

Butcher blocks may need to be oiled periodically. That's a drawback to consider.

You should contact the place that sells Michigan Maple blocks thru Audiogon. They sell butcher blocks, but they also sell audio stands / shelves which they coat / seal. They'll happily make custom sizes too.

I found a new rack on Craigslist that will solve my room issue, so amp stands are no longer needed. Thank you for the replies.
