Audio Research SP8 Special Edition Tube Preamp (phono)
This legendary preamp (S/N 73021003) is a special edition from Audio Research as it came from the factory all Wonder capped and the phono section has great sounding premium caps as well. I checked with the factory and they did not classify this as a Mk I or Mk II version. They occasionally issued special versions without designation such as this but was rare. I happened to get this one and didn’t even realize it until years later.
The power supply Electrolytic caps are new. The item has been in use in my system so it works fine. Unit re-tubed and has about 500 hrs on them.
