Who wants a pair of LS-6's in Rosewood?
« on: 18 Jun 2015, 08:43 pm »
I had a guy send me a pair of Rosewood LS-6 cabinets last year. They look beautiful. He asked me to build them out for him with all the best parts and add Sonicap Platinum by-pass caps to the tweeter circuit. They have been lined with No Rez as well. I have have had them 95% complete since last year.

And then I never heard from him again. And I have been trying to reach him since last year. I called him a LOT and only ever got an answering machine. I never got a call back from any of the messages I left. I also mailed out a letter requesting him contact me, but have still never heard anything back.

If he popped up today I'd be glad to complete the transaction with him and ship him his speakers. But at some point I have to treat them as abandoned and sell them to get my investment of time and materials back out of them.

So if any of you are interested in a beautiful pair of Rosewood LS-6's then please let me know.

Is there a link or write up that talks about ideal placement of the LS-6? Suggested room size?

Is my AVA 400R amp up to the task of powering them?

I guess my biggest concern is placement....

Thanks,

Michael

Guys, this pair deserves to be in a good home and not setting around at GR Research.

$4,500 plus shipping. This is really cheap for a completed pair that I have personally assembled and for Rosewood cabinets. These also have the Sonicap Platinum upgrade ($216) and are lined with No Rez ($319.60 not counting labor to install it).

Here are a few pics of the sides of them to show just how beautiful this Rosewood really is. I tried several lighting combinations to try and miss the glare of the lights while still lighting them up. It was not easy. But as the pics show, these really look good.

Someone besides me needs to be enjoying this pair.

Having nice rosewood cabinets like this made here in the US would be in the $4,000 range alone.

In the pic below I have not mounted them on the piano black bases.

$4,200 for the pair.

That's a lot of speaker for the money.  I don't think there is anything out there that can do the things it does for anywhere near that price.  If you listen to classical orchestral, they are about as good as it gets.

Danny -- I'm trying to talk my friend into purchasing these. What are the dimensions? How low do they go?

See box plans: http://gr-research.com/pdf/LS-6%20Box.pdf

And in most rooms they are -3db down in the 20 to 25Hz range.
