I'm reluctantly selling this great preamp (I've gone to the dark side--tubes). It works as it should, and it looks great (at least 8/10, but I can't find any flaws).
This was part of Cary's "budget" line. As you may know. Cary makes some very expensive hi fi pieces, so they did not want to hurt their brand by putting out garbage. This preamp, while simple in operation, uses high quality parts-Noble volume pot, Kimber and Multicap caps in critical positions and nice connectors on the back. The sum experience is a quiet, even-handed but dynamic sounding preamp. It's not harsh sounding like a lot of solid state gear.
It has a very nice sounding MM phono stage, also, and I have the original box/packing.
