845 SET system

This is my main system that my living room is built around. The speakers are DIY (Altec 511b/802-8G, JBL 077 and JBL 2235H) and around 100dB efficient. So I don't need a lot of power. I'm using a pair of Antique Sound Labs AQ1006 845 DT MKII amps. Even with just 22 watts these are borderline overkill with my speakers. I has a McIntosh C36 pre that was too much. I don't need gain. I replaced it with a Sonic Euphoria passive (autoformers) to get some degree of usable volume control. Loving the SET magic with my horns.

Agreed, that's awesome!  I particularly like the Reel to Reel, I bet it sounds as good as it looks.

Years ago I owned that same amp w/ efficient cone speakers.   I have owned many amps before and after, but the ASL 845's  brought me the most intoxicating and sublime musical moments that I can recall.  Would love to hear them on my current Sunny horns.

Sweet looking system!    :thumb:

The BR20 is an awesome deck. With master tapes from The Tape Project, music doesn't get any better. All the analog goodness with CD black background.
