I've never understood the point of "listening" to speakers via a recording of the speakers played back through your own speakers.

Heard the ones and twos don't like either, Ayre electronics.
For the price I would look elsewhere. Maybe Logans.........Arials.....

The first time I heard them was at Scott Walker's, and was pretty impressed.

I since heard them a couple more times in different environs, and was sort of, Eh...

Heard the 1's, have the 2's since they came out.  Using them for HT/TV only,  feed by a Marantz MM7025, Marantz 8801 and a OPPO105. Speaker placement makes the biggest difference with these and a big room. 24x18x12

Real impressive through my phone.

I agree, the bass is off the charts and I only have the iPhone 4.

I like how with the towers and elevated risers, it looks like skyscrapers and an elevated train.  In fact, if I had that room, I'd put a little train running back and forth between the speakers.

I bought a pair of Goldenear Supersat 3s for T-Rex, a lifted, 4x4, class B camper van as seen on his channel.

Planning on moving the Pioneer DEH-80PRS head unit from the Tundra to it and running BEYMA 8BR40/N - 8" for bass. And plan on getting the awesome Pioneer DEX-P99RS head unit for the Tundra. Pioneers best sounding unit to date. System would be P99RS to Mosconi 100.4 to Scanspeak Illuminator tweeters and Scanspeak Revelator woofers up front and a pair of Braun 1030s in the back.

Heard the Superset 3s only once thus far and they show promise. Was a little bright in the 6-10 khz region but I don't believe they are broken in yet. Bought as a demo pair from a dealer.

Personally, the giant sock look doesn't do it for me, especially at the price where they compete with some very nice looking (and performing) speakers. I understand the cost savings the socks provide, but still I'd have a hard time putting them in the living room. The socks are just a way to increase profit margin. That's how I see it. With other sock covered speakers, like Vandersteens and Magnepans, the socks provide a uniform look that is based around their technical design.
I understand some may like the look of the Tritons. I'd rather buy some much prettier Salks or something more finely crafted.
In a dedicated HT room, the Tritons would be just fine.

Just my $.02

Most speakers have a "front sock" and their veneer either doesn't match my furniture or puts it to shame, so I have no problem with a "full sock" (except for our cat that still has claws).  Would rather put money into drivers/components than veneer.
