For Sale:

Arcam Alpha 10 Integrated Amp for sale.

Cosmetically, it is in fairly good shape, but is not perfect.  Maybe a 7 or 8 of 10.  Please see photos for details.  Note the cracked plastic in the back upper right of the front panel.  It looks worse in the photo than it does in person.  The original protective film is still on the display.

Functionally, the amp exhibits a squeal until it warms up, about 5 minutes from power-on.  I suspect a cold solder joint or a bad cap, but am not certain.

The photos shown at the bottom of this post are only a couple of the whole set of photos. Please follow the link to see an exhaustive photo catalog of this amp.

The remote went missing some time ago, so there's no remote.

Each channel is capable of 100w into 8 ohms, at .02% THD.

This amp is capable of driving 2 pairs of speakers simultaneously, via the A/B speaker selector switches, as long as total impedance stays at or above 4 ohms.

I used this amp for years and absolutely loved it.  It would get nice and loud, always clean, always musical, always brought a smile to my face.  I got the itch for something different, and now this fine British iron is surplus to my needs.

It uses those goofy BFA speaker connectors rather than normal binding posts.    They'll accept spade terminations, bare wire, or BFA connectors.  Two pair of BFA connectors are included.

In consideration of the squeal and cosmetic blemishes, I'm asking $275, plus shipping.  If you don't like the price, make me an offer.

I also have an Arcam DAVE (Digital Audio Video Entertainment) module that I can add to the amp for $100.  The DAVE module adds a very nice DAC with both Toslink and Coax digital inputs.  DAVE also adds decoding of Dolby digital, Dolby Pro Logic and DTS soundtracks, as well as composite AV switching and DSP.  This module comes with a very nice remote.

I have the original box to ship the amp in, as well as another box to double-box it in, so it should travel well.  This amp weighs around 21 pounds, in large part due to the massive toroidal transformer.  Shipping via UPS, including insurance, will run around $60.

I'm open to local pick up in Austin, TX or the surrounding area.

Is the DAVE module still available?
