Thank you for being patient with me the other day. I'm so glad I was able to listen to the different Omega speakers.

How does the 3U differ from the 3i sonically? I see the cabinet sizes are a bit different.

I've only heard the Super 5 Monitor with the HempCone 4.5" driver and I would trade back and forth with the HempConed Super 3i and HempConed Super 5XRS I had at the time, so I can only make that direct comparison.  The Super 5 Monitor was warmer and fuller than the Super 3i, but slower.  The Super 3i's were the clear winner on the desktop though.  Having the same cabinet volume as the Super 5XRS (now Super 3XRS w/RS5 driver), the Super 5 Monitor was very close in sound signature, didn't have quite the bottom end the Super 5XRS had.

The closest current model comparison I can come to the Super 3U would be the Super 3XRS which is one of Louis most popular speakers.
If you are considering speakers for the desktop, the Super 3i or Desktop would be my choice.  For a room, those Super 3U's are a no brainer at $300 off. 
They would be perfect for your little place in Taiwan.
