I need to throw all my stuff out and make a system just like yours. Awesome.
Those look fantastic. I wish I had the skills (and patience ) to make equipment. DIY question - it looks like you tied the input grounds together at the RCA jacks but also bring the individual grounds back to the source selector. Is that redundant, aesthetic, or help with hum or thumps?
That's a "NO BS" Linestage
That is an awesome bench. Wish I had the room for same.
Also having the right speakers with a low power system helps with the synergy in this system.
What made you choose that speaker design over all other high efficiency designs that compete with it?
No need to throw anything out. You never know when you might need it. I built that 2A3 over 10 years ago. I didn't like it at the time, so I put it on a shelf. After I built the linestage a few months back, I hooked the 2A3 up and WOW. What I thought was a noisey amp was the pre I was using at the time. Now with the right pre, it is dead quiet with all the SET liquid midrange and magic. Also having the right speakers with a low power system helps with the synergy in this system.
