SOLD This is a Master Volume Controller from Experience Music – Jeffrey W. Jackson. It uses 80% nickel core autoformers from Dave Slagle. It has four inputs and two outputs. It allows you to control the volume for each channel in 1 dB increments. The internal wiring is cryo’d silver core with a Teflon jacket and the RCA jacks are from Vampire. The side panels are mahogany. The Experience Music website calls it the Passive Aggressive preamp because of its dynamics, resolution and lifelike presentation.
I am asking $850.I have owned numerous passive preamps(Reference Line Audio, Placette, Audio Synthesis, First Sound and more), and this one is the best sounding and easiest to use of any. Unlike passives that have 24 steps yielding between 2 to 3 dB increments, this setup gets you down to 1 dB and allows you to balance the channels. I find this absolutely necessary for critical listening and comparing system changes.
