Every couple of weeks I am in the mood to watch a couple of movies

Here is what I recommend in late April

The French Connection
Gene Hackman is a good actor and his movies really stand the test of time. This is a classic thriller - cat and mouse and famous chase scenes set in NYC.

The French Connection II
Part 2 with Gene Hackman and the other important characters. This time set in Marseilles. Also very good.

The Conversation
Another great Gene Hackman film. He plays a PI specializing in high tech recording. Excellent even though it is set in the 70s.

La Moustache
A foreign film that won all kinds of awards. Very entertaining if you like travel, suspense, ambiguity, mid-life crisis.

Robot and Frank
In the future things are the same except we have robots to do lots of things for us. A man with some dementia setting in gets a lift from a robot caretaker and a second chance at a life of crime.

Groundhog Day
If you have never seen it a must see. Bill Murray and Andie McDowell.

Batman, Batman, Star Trek, Star trek, Star Trek...
These are on my list

Also there is a lot of Masterpiece Theater - lots and lots if you like British detective and period pieces.

Nice list!

There are some shows on Amazon Prime that are not on Netflix, which are very much worth checking out:

Orphan Black - British take on cloning - the lead actress plays a bunch of different roles and is flat out amazing.

The Americans - Russian sleeper spies in America during the 80's, great stuff!

And of course if you have not seen all the HBO shows, they are on there too.  Sopranos, The Wire, 6 Feet Under, all stellar...

Great suggestions, guys. I love Amazon Prime...not just for the movies, but for everything it offers.

I'm about to start up the Americans soon, just after I finish the two shows I'm watching currently on Netflix ("Daredevil", "Halt and Catch Fire")

I'm really disappointed that Tatiana Maslany from Orphan Black didn't get chosen for the star wars spinoff...she's an incredibly talented actor and would be great in that role.
