My new setup has my Pro-Ject RM4 TT about six feet away from my preamp. I  will need a rather long interconnect to get it hooked back up. Is there anything special I should look for in a long TT IC?

Low capacitance and good shielding are what come to mind immediately. Too much capacitance can roll off the highs and dull the sound. Since this is such a low level signal a good quality shield will be necessary to keep noise pickup to a minimum.

I don't have any specific brand recommendations for you but those are the two main characteristics for phono cables.

I have the same TT.  As soon as I get the extra money, I'm going to get Ridge Street to rewire my tonearm and have the wires go straight to the phono preamp and bypass the jacks on the back entirely.

If I can ever find an RM9 base by itself, I'll upgrade the whole setup to it.  THEN I'll be done.. ;)

I agree that you want cables that provide low capacitance and good shielding in this part of the path.
