Does anybody have any comments on his products?

I am most interested in his isolation feet and which type of coupling ball you have used.

Did you use 3 or 4 feet under your gear?

Also, has anybody tried the Ebony tube damping instrument? Is it a significant upgrade from the stock one?

I realize he has a 90 day return period so I will be able to try things in my system, I just don't want to necessarily order everything.

Zybar,

I use the Herbies isolation feet with cryo maple balls (set of 4) for my BPT 3.5 Signature. I removed the factory feet on the BPT. Maple amp stand from Timber Nation with Herbies feet on top.

Worked out very well. Didnt cost an arm & leg.

I have Herbie's TT mat, CD mat, and tube dampener Hal-O's... Every one of those has made a nice improvement.

The TT mat replaced the stock felt mat on my Pro-Ject RM4, very nice improvement in every area.

The CD mat makes for a less digital sounding reproduction, nice.

The Hal-O's tightened the image focus and gave a little better instrument separation.

Every one of those products made a nice change for me, the TT mat being the most dramatic. I wouldn't want to get rid of any of them, though.

After exchanging a few e-mails with Steve (wasn't expecting a response on a Sunday

), I am going to try the following:

(6) Ballcup Tenderfoot in black
(6) Ebony balls
(2) White tube damping instruments
(1) Pair Halo Jr's for digital ic

I am going to use 3 Tenderfoot/Ebony balls under my Audio Logic tube dac and EA modified Sony S-7700.

Will report back my findings.

Looks like you've already found out that the customer service you get from Steve is exceptional.

I've only used the Tenderfooters under gear (he didn't have the ballcup models out when I bought 'em). And have heard the Hal-O's in action.

I was a bit surprised at how the clarity improved when putting Tenderfooters under digital sources (Proceed PMDT, and various Pioneer DVDP's). An excellent improvement, and I've not yet heard a downside to using them.

At some point I'll have to get Combat Boots for my DV-AX10 as it's waaaay to heavy for Tenderfooters as it's got a few other things stacked on top.

Aren't those feet rated at 100 or 120 each?

How much gear do you have stacked?

Yeah, the Combat Boots are rated for big weight like that.

My equipment stack consists on my LD player on the bottom (about 45 pounds), DVD player on top of that (about 55 pounds), Receiver on top of DVDP (another 45 pounds or so), and the DD EX/DTS ES amp on top of that (20 pounds or so).

I think you'll be happy with Herbies products. I have three sets of the Tenderfeet, the TT mat (very nice) and a set of Combat boots under my TT. I have Halo's on all the tube gear as well and have been very happy with all the products and Steve's service.

When I purchased most of my stuff the nifty ball cup isolators didn't exist yet. I may have to order up a set along with some of the ebony balls.

Dammit George, you just cost me some money.

If I hadn't know about the ball cup isolators and the Ebony balls I would have continued to be happy with my existing tenderfeet but nooooo, you had to go and spoil it.

I'm looking forward to receiving the new footers and balls.

I've used the footers under some of my gear for a while...I'm really curious to hear about the difference in sound between the footers and the footers with the coupling balls.

I can comment that the response time on their email is good - I ordered a Grungemat, and was informed the same day that it would mail out promptly. I should be receiving that item this week, and will report back.

i use the mini dots between my daruhmas, cones etc. and the component chassis', 1 halo in my sacd player, 2 in my preamp and 2 for my amp drivers, i.c. dampers, baby booties under my power supplies and 4 ball cups with ebony balls under my amp. the cumulitive effect has been great accross the spectrum and steve is always helpfull and easy to deal with.

I like the price sensitivity shown and the cute names. Have read of many satisfied customers of the tube dampeners, but for more money the brass sleeves from Mapleshade are said to be more effective (but they remove the romance of glowing tubes).

i haven't compared the two, but the mini dots are a different material and they only cost $.99 for four. so why not give them a try?
