Aluminati Sound Diablo 500 amp
Original MSRP: $1700

Will sell for: $650 plus shipping & paypal
Excellent condition

The Diablo 500 is a class D stereo amp powered by Ice Power technology

This Diablo is silver with the blue front panel LED.  Aluminati Sound is known for it's gorgeous and highly effective cases cut from a solid block of aluminum as a means to seriously reduce interference from inside and outside sources.  The amp employs the latest ICE modules (250 watts @ 8 ohms, 500 watts @ 4 ohms).  The unit accepts both RCA and XLR inputs.

I'd heard a range of opinions about class D amps, but I'd also seen lots of praise for Aluminati Sound and this amp in particular so I thought I'd give it a try.   To say the least, it exceeded my expectations.  While I intended this to go into a secondary system, I did put it head-to-head with a McCormack DNA-500 amp in my main rig just to compare.  No, it was not as dynamic nor refined as the McCormack.  But, given the 7-8x difference in price, the Diablo performed surprisingly well.

If you're looking for an entry-level amp or a beautiful amp for a secondary system, this amp is a great find!

Mike, are you trying to give the amp away? :P That's a ridicules low price that includes shipping too. Man oh man, I may have to rethink my plans from yesterday. I'm gonna ask Matt if the face plate has any clear coating. If not that aluminum is easy to polish, just takes some time though.

It's a great little amp but I need to free up some cash hence the great deal.   It's going up on Audiogon tomorrow and price will bump back up to cover their fees.

Steve - not sure what you mean about the face plate - it's brushed aluminum and absolutely gorgeous as is.

Each to his own, but I would pay extra money to have a highly polished faceplate changed to brushed.  ;)

Mike were you able to get the min. bid for your amp? I was surprised it hadn't been pushed to higher than what it was with 7 minutes to go.

Steve,  nope, it didn't sell but I had several inquiries so it still may.   A'gon will let me relst at no charge so that's probably what I'll do.   Hey, it's a very nice amp at this price so perhaps it just needs a bit more exposure.
