BDP 2 Update Data Base
« on: 20 Feb 2015, 07:23 pm »
Hi,

Our BDP 2 seems to take an excessively long time to update its data base, it has been updating for over 1.5 hrs. with a library of about 4300 songs on a NAS. While I understand there are variables due to networks this seems to be a really slow process. We also have a product from another vendor that updates its data base in under 1 minute.

This does seem rather odd then. With the BDP2 having much more power than the BDP 1 with the thought from Bryston that the 2 has more than enough processing power for what it's tasked to do thus no immediate plans for a 3 with more power then an explanation of the slow performance will be interesting to find out.

I would also expect a fast time period to perform the update. especially given the price of the product. If not it sounds like the product is screaming for an Intel i7 to get'er done!

Somethings amiss there -  I have 90,000 songs on my NAS and it takes about 5 minutes.

Do You have update to Manic Moose firmware?
There is a drastic reduction of the update time compared to the previous...

Yes there is new beta you can play with.

Just add  #beta  to the ip address in the browser after you choose 'Update Firmware' in the MM Desktop Page.
