Have recently started to notice the gradual inflation of prices here in Canada with respect to our very weak Canadian dollar and even noticed that it was close to $.75 yesterday - so much for a heavily resourced based economy.
While wishing to purchase a few items this year, under the “nice to have, but not a necessity” banner, I am amazed at how rapidly some prices have increased and this is dramatically going to reprioritize my thoughts on this subject.
I was discussing this very issue with a dealer the other day, my eyebrows raised after a quoted price and he followed by “due to the weak dollar” to lesson the blow. Now I do feel bad for these individuals but in all reality, I can do without what they are selling during this point in time. Inflation completely destroys the value of a product where they be turntables or Marvel statues and these products can stay on the shelf – why pay thousands more for a product this year than what it was sold for the previous year?
Just curious if any other fellow Canucks are also taking inflation into consideration for any up and coming audio purchases this year?
Be well….
