Rip 1 vinyl album to high rez?
« on: 7 Feb 2015, 02:39 pm »
I long ago gave up my budget turntable and gave all my vinyl to a friend. I've recently came into possession of a sealed album (vinyl) that I'd dearly love to have ripped to 24/192.  This isn't a rare or valuable item; but the band went out of existence long before cd, so it's not available (to my knowledge) other than in vinyl format. I want it ripped primarily for sentimental reasons and as a favor to a friend that is seriously ill.

If anyone in the US has the setup and would be willing to do the rip for me (I'd be glad to provide compensation), feel free to pm me.

Thanks!

Randy

I'll do it.  VPI HR-X table, Dynavector XV-1s cartridge, Manley Steelhead phono stage.  I can rip it with Audacity to 24/192 and send it to you in either FLAC or WAV, or I suppose some other format of your choice.  I would imagine dvd would be the best media for travel, but I could put it on a thumb drive I guess, probably need 1 Gbyte or thereabouts.

No compensation required.  Just need the album and a return postage arrangement.

Cheers,
Dave
